谷澤紗和子個展「矯めを解す(ためをほぐす)」

studio Jに於ける12月からの展覧会と致しまして、谷澤紗和子個展「矯めを解す（ためをほぐす）」を開催致します。

studio Jでの谷澤の個展は、昨年に引き続き2回目となります。これまで谷澤は陶器、ドローイングなどの制作、またワークショップの開催と精力的に活動していますが、近年は2010年頃から始めた切り紙が制作の中心です。

会場全体を包み込むような大掛かりなインスタレーション作品もあれば、よく目を凝らさないと見逃してしまうような小さな紙片を使ったものから、そのバリエーションは豊富です。扱われているモチーフはその時々のテーマにより異なりますが、時に土俗的にも感じられる表現の中にも、一貫してフェミニズムが根底にあり近年益々洗練された作品を形作っています。

今回の展示「矯めを解す」は、生活や教育の中で、矯正された/ したことを解すための演習がテーマです。３Dと２Dの要素を併せ持つ切り紙表現として、しわくちゃの梱包紙や、折り紙技法などを取り入れた新作の切り紙作品を発表します。

studio J Exhibition Information

We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Sawako Tanizawa, Loosen up the correction. Following last year’s exhibition, this marks the second solo exhibition of Tanizawa at studio J. Tanizawa has been actively creating ceramics and drawings in addition to holding workshops, but in recent years her mainstay has become kirigami (paper cuttings), which she began around 2010. Her work ranges from large-scale installations encompassing entire exhibition spaces, to small pieces of paper that viewers might miss if they don’t look closely. Although her motifs used vary according to the given themes at the time, feminism is consistently at the core of her work, even in her occasional earthy expressions, and recent years have shown an increasing sophistication in her artwork. The theme surrounding Loosen up the correction is an exercise in unraveling the corrections of life and education, and the artist will present new kirigami works that incorporate 3D and 2D elements, such as wrinkled packing paper and origami techniques.
